What inspired you to start your Instagram account?

Well, I was a little late to the Instagram party. I resisted it at first, as I’m a very private person by nature. I finally caved in, and was pleasantly surprised when I did. I have found and connected with so many extraordinary artists from around the world I probably wouldn’t have met otherwise.

It has been great to expand my connections on a worldwide level. I now get to work with amazing companies from all over the globe, and have developed wonderful friendships with people in many countries.

In a world full of social media how do you keep yourself and your kids grounded?

We spend a lot of time outdoors, particularly near the ocean. I find that being away from the computers and screens, and getting to feel the environment around us does wonders for grounding. With the kids, we take a lot of smaller road trips, mostly day trips. The kids love exploring, and I always find new sources of inspiration on our trips. We live in Southern California, so the mountains are as close as the ocean is to us. The palm desert is also a family favorite. There are art exhibitions in the desert that we always try and see.

What first made you like Gardner and the gang?

I was first introduced to Gardner and the Gang by my good friend Kim, from Design Life Kids.  I fell in love with the bold colors, unique prints and fun styles. Perfect for childhood. Fits in well with my children’s love of story telling. Fairy tales are in their blood. They are related to The Brothers Grimm, so our kids have a rich history of imagination and love whimsical designs. Also, Gardner and the Gang was the first brand that I came across that had unisex outfits that are awesome for my daughters and my son, both. Perfect for sharing!

Someone/thing insanely cool you would like to share with the gang?

Best Friends Animal Society

They are the largest no-kill animal sanctuary here in the states. I feel very passionate about animals, as do my children.

and a local haunt would be:

Holy Matcha. A sweet cafe the kids and I frequent. You walk in and are immediately transported to a pink wonderland. I just love the mix of innovative design and good for you treats.

A Quote or last words

That's a tough one, there are so many great quotes. Let me about:

"And stand together yet not too near together.

For the pillars of the temple stand apart,

And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other’s shadow."

"You are the bows from which your children

as living arrows are sent forth."

-Kahlil Gibran

the heart of a hippie,

the spirit of a fairy...

Linda Dekkers-Live loud girl

Linda Dekkers- AKA Live Loud Girl is a personal friend of mine.

We "met" over the infamous app that we all know as Instagram where I was moving to the same city and bluntly asked her if she wanted to be my friend. ;)  Luckliy Linda said yes and 3 years down the line I am so pleased to see Lindas thriving business ( es) with a new project coming up ( check out @fronteriors )

It is so lovely to have a like minded friend that challenges, you, that helps you improve in business and as a friend you can chat about all and nothing with.

Please go get inspired by this live LOUD dutch girl @liveloudgirl

Three questions for LINDA:

I know your story started as a thought that then grew into an amazingly successful interior and creative business, What do you think is the recipe to your success?

It all begins with taking that first step. I had a vision and a love for beautiful interiors and started sharing my insipiration on a blog. Back then I had no idea how that worked not that it would lead to where I am today. Having your own business is hard work though,  lets not pretend its not, you are always "on" yet if you do what you love, you love what you do. Yet so worth it!

In a fast paced world ruled by social media how do you wind down on the weekends and what do you do "behind the scenes in real life"?

The beach is my happy place. I really relax when I´m there on a Friday morning with coffee, an umbrella, watching the kids swim and surf. Our weekends are often spent at home just lazing around and being together. I will be the last one to say though that totally shutting down is relaxing for me. So yes I will be flicking around through magazines and looking for inspiration and headspace.

What first made you like Gardner and the gang?

I was following Kristin on Instagramas I loved her vibe and her home. We met after she moved to Dubai with her family and now I can call this crazy entusiastic lady one of my friends. In term of the brand... What´s not to like? It is original, fun and comfortable. Perfect for kids and adults. Kristin is so creative and has a passion for designing something out of the ordinary, something we can all learn from.

Something insanely cool you would like to share with the gang?

Where do I start?! One of my favorite places to go for a bite in the weekends is the Surf house, the singel fin cafe. A perfect combo of good food and weekend vibes. A very favorite holiday destination is Sri Lanka. It is surprisingly a very inspirational place for me when it comes to interior styling. An instagram account I always check is The fashion Guitar. And I'm very into sweet potato brownies lately...

Any last words?

Live loud- why not?

Miriam Abadi

Miriam Adadi the Dubai based influencer who worked in marketing and accidentally slipped in to the "influencer market". Mother of two boys, on her inspiring instagram we can follow her family, work and social life.

You are one of the strongest influencers in Dubai, how did your journey start?
Oh wow that is a big title. Not sure if that is true, but it has started when Harpers Bazaar selected me as best dressed in 2016. At that time I had a full time /full on marketing career in FMCG. Sometimes I used to work 14 hours a day, but dressing up in the morning always made me feel better about myself. Like many of us, we dress according to our mood, and fashion in many times, helped me to express myself without speaking, When I felt I wanted to conquer the world I dressed up like the devil wears prada, when we had creative sessions with the agency I used to dress up super trendy.... It was all a way of life really before the whole social media world started. After I got selected as best dressed, a dear friend suggested me to open my page, and taking it more seriously . At that time social media really started having its weight, especially when it came to building of brands, so I said to myself, Why not! Lets explore this... and here I am today
What inspires you in your every day life?
There are sooooo many things that inspire me everyday. I really try to take note of everything around me and process it. What inspires me always, is when successful people are kind and you can actually learn from their journey . For example today I had the pleasure to meet Eduardo who is the create director of Aquazzura who is an amazing person
How did you first come a cross Gardner and the gang?
I came across this super cute brand when I met the founder during a cover shoot for Harpers Bazaar junior. Such lovely and cool creations.
